For Microsoft Word on Mac · Mac beta December 1, 2026
A Word ribbon tab for contract work, built from an attorney's own drafting macros. Eight groups of tools for defined terms, cross-references, numbering, drafting and the checks you run before a document goes out.
The tools
With text selected, a tool works on the selection. With nothing selected, it works on the body of the document.
Getting started
01
It copies the AttorneyForge Word template into Word's Startup folder. The beta installer is not signed yet, so the first time macOS may ask you to allow it under System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway. You can also drag the template into the Startup folder yourself.
02
Quit Word and open it again. The AttorneyForge tab appears on the ribbon.
03
Open a contract and click. To remove it, double-click the uninstaller and restart Word.

What each tool does, shown on short made-up contract text. Bulk tools show a count and ask before they change anything.

How it works in your draft
01
The tools sit on an AttorneyForge tab on the Word ribbon, loaded from a template in Word's Startup folder. Select text and a tool works on the selection. Select nothing and it works on the body of the document.
02
Bulk tools show a count and ask before they change anything, for example “Add titles after all 37 section references?”. Most tools undo in one step; batch tools may take a few Cmd-Z presses, so save before running them.
03
Tools edit with tracked changes off by default, warn you first if the document already has revisions, and restore your setting afterward. One setting makes tool edits tracked instead.
04
Report tools open their findings in a new, unsaved document and leave yours as it was. Next Flag steps through highlights, and Clear Flags removes them.
Privacy
No document text, file names or document metadata ever leave your machine. That is the promise, and the tools are built around it.
FAQ
The beta is for Microsoft Word on Mac. Windows is planned after the Mac beta.
No. No document text, file names or document metadata ever leave your machine. The tools make no network calls and send nothing to an AI service. When licensing launches, the Toolbar will contact license.attorneyforge.com to check your license and send only your license key, a hashed machine ID and the app version. It never sends your documents.

By default, tools make their edits with tracked changes off and restore your setting afterward. If the document already has revisions, the tool tells you how many and asks before it continues. A setting lets you make tool edits as tracked changes instead.
Double-click the uninstaller and restart Word.
Possibly. The tab is a macro-enabled Word template and the beta build is not code-signed, so Word may ask you to enable macros, and macOS may ask you to allow the installer under System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway the first time you run it.
No. AttorneyForge Toolbar is made by AttorneyForge and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft.
