Welcome to attorneyforge.com (the “Site”), operated by AttorneyForge (“AttorneyForge,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms of Use (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Who we are / what this Site is

AttorneyForge makes pocket-sized legal tools: small software applications for tasks solo and small-firm attorneys repeat. The Site currently provides company information, a coming-soon page for LEDESLine, and a waitlist.

Not a law firm. AttorneyForge is a software company. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice through the Site. Use of the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship with AttorneyForge or Jason Sweeney.

LawEvo LLC is a separate professional entity. AttorneyForge is not LawEvo and is not a DBA of LawEvo.

LEDESLine, when it is released, is planned as an AttorneyForge product that turns a regular invoice into a LEDES 1998B file (including UTBMS codes), offered at a one-time price rather than a subscription. The Site does not state a dollar price. Descriptions may change before launch, and LEDESLine is not offered for use today. Separate license terms will govern any software we later release. “LEDES” names a legal-industry e-billing format; we do not claim to own that format.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Site. The Site is intended for professionals and business users.

3. Waitlist

The waitlist form collects an email address and, if you choose, a name. By submitting it, you agree that the information is accurate, that we may store it as described in our Privacy Policy, and that we may email you about AttorneyForge tools, including LEDESLine. You may unsubscribe as described in that policy.

Do not submit confidential client information, matter identifiers, invoice files, or anything you would not put on a public contact form. The form is not a channel for legal advice and it does not open a matter. The Site is hosted on Vercel, and waitlist contact records are stored in Vercel Blob.

The Site, including the three-gold faceted “A” mark, text, design, and graphics, is owned by AttorneyForge or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute Site materials except as allowed by these Terms or with our prior written consent.

“AttorneyForge” and “LEDESLine” are names we use for this software business and its first tool. Nothing on the Site claims those names are registered trademarks. Third-party names are property of their owners.

6. Feedback

If you send ideas or feedback, you grant AttorneyForge a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use them without obligation to you.

7. Hosting

The Site is hosted on Vercel. Waitlist records are stored in Vercel Blob. We are not responsible for outages of hosting providers, or for third-party sites we link to.

8. Disclaimers

THE SITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Coming-soon descriptions, including the LEDESLine page, are informational and may change before launch. The Site does not produce invoices and does not review your bills. Separate license terms will govern any paid or downloadable software.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ATTORNEYFORGE AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR SITE ACCESS IN THE PRIOR TWELVE MONTHS (IF ANY), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

10. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify AttorneyForge and its operators against claims arising from your misuse of the Site, information you were not allowed to share, or violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information, including waitlist emails stored in Vercel Blob.

12. Changes

We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version on the Site. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we may provide additional notice on the Site.

13. Termination

We may suspend or stop providing the Site, or remove a waitlist signup, at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity) survive termination.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Exclusive venue for disputes lies in state or federal courts located in Virginia, unless applicable law requires otherwise. You consent to personal jurisdiction there.

15. Miscellaneous

These Terms are the entire agreement regarding the Site. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization or sale.
