What it does

The careful work between drafts, done in a click.

A Word ribbon tab for contract work, built from an attorney's own drafting macros.

Defined terms

Check Terms finds capitalized terms that are never defined. Term Issues reports unused definitions, terms used before they are defined, duplicates and inconsistent case. Bold Terms bolds each term where it is defined.

Cross-references

Link All Refs turns typed references like “Section 4.2(b)” into live ones and lists any it cannot match. Add Titles writes “Section 3.4 (Confidentiality)”, and the title follows the heading when it changes.

Numbering

Fix Numbering reports typed numbers, mixed list templates, gaps and restarts, and converts typed numbers in a selection to real list numbering. Re-letter re-sequences inline (a), (b), (c) lists.

Numbers, words and dates

Write “ten (10)” and “two and one-half percent (2.5%)” in legal style, spell out dollar amounts, turn words into numerals, and catch words-versus-numerals mismatches. Harmonize Dates brings mixed formats to one and skips the ambiguous ones.

Clause library

Keep your clauses in one Word document you own. Insert one by category and name at the cursor, or add the selected text to the library.

Before you send

Scan Hidden Text finds white, tiny, hidden and zero-width text. Pre-Send Check counts hidden items, brackets, comments and tracked changes. Clean Paste turns pasted Markdown into clean Word formatting.

Re-letter

Re-sequences or restyles inline lists, leaving references like “Section 4.2(a)” alone.

After

(a) notice; (b) cure; and (c) termination

Numbers / Words

Writes numbers and percentages in legal style, turns words into numerals, and reports words-versus-numerals mismatches.

Before

within 10 days, at 2.5%

After

within ten (10) days, at two and one-half percent (2.5%)

Harmonize Dates

Finds dates in mixed formats and converts them to the one you choose. Ambiguous dates are listed and skipped.

Before

10/15/2026 · 15 October 2026 · 03/04/2026

After

October 15, 2026 · October 15, 2026 · 03/04/2026 (skipped: ambiguous)

How it works in your draft

Built to be trusted with a live draft.

  1. 01

    Runs inside Word on Mac

The tools sit on an AttorneyForge tab on the Word ribbon, loaded from a template in Word's Startup folder. Select text and a tool works on the selection. Select nothing and it works on the body of the document.

  2. 02

    Asks first, easy to undo

Bulk tools show a count and ask before they change anything, for example “Add titles after all 37 section references?”. Most tools undo in one step; batch tools may take a few Cmd-Z presses, so save before running them.

  3. 03

    Tracked changes respected

Tools edit with tracked changes off by default, warn you first if the document already has revisions, and restore your setting afterward. One setting makes tool edits tracked instead.

  4. 04

    Reports, not surprises

Report tools open their findings in a new, unsaved document and leave yours as it was. Next Flag steps through highlights, and Clear Flags removes them.

Privacy

Your documents never leave your Mac.

No document text, file names or document metadata ever leave your machine. That is the promise, and the tools are built around it.

  • Runs locally. The tools make no network calls and send nothing to an AI service.
  • Only the open document. A tool works on the document you are in when you click. It never opens, lists or reads your other files.
  • Reports stay yours. Findings open as a new, unsaved Word document that you own.
  • When licensing launches, the Toolbar will contact license.attorneyforge.com to check your license and send only your license key, a hashed machine ID and the app version. It never sends your documents.
